    Phriday Phonebill Phun

It's that time of the month when Working Assets wants money from me...because not only do I work for them -- they also work for me. I'm a Working Assets Wireless customer, which means I have a snazzy Katana phone, I dedicate a portion of my payments to non-profit partners and (this is the really crazy part) I like getting my phonebill.

Why? Because what other company highlights a cool organization:

The Florida panther once roamed freely across the Southeast. But development has pushed the 100 surviving panthers into the sawmpland of Big Cypress National Preserve. Even here these magnificent cats are not safe: U.S. Route 41 runs directly through their habitat and several panthers have been killed crossing the highway to find food and shelter. Now, thanks to pressure from Defenders of Wildlife, the Florida Department of Trasnportation has agreed to build a wildlife bridge over the highway.

What other phone company teaches us about great organizations like Defenders of Wildlife? And what other phonebill is so well written?

There's information on what new cars are green choices, recommendations of books about compost, and a call to action on the voter verifiable paper trails.

Also, presumably somewhere there's info on how much I owe.

If you want a phonebill like this, it's not hard -- make the switch to Working Assets, and they'll even pay for your carbon offsets so you'll be carbon neutral for the next year.

And, once a month, you'll get a good read in the mail: your bill.
