"Concerns About Whether to Have This Fight Now..."

For awhile, we have been urging our members to write Congress and demand a restoration of Habeas Corpus...and the the healing of our wounded Constitution.

According to our friend Matt Stoller at MyDD, today might be the day to put down your keyboards and pick up the phone:

I'm told there's an outside shot that House Democrats on the Armed Services Committee will put a restoration of habeas corpus into the Defense Department Authorization Bill being marked up tomorrow and Thursday. Apparently Chairman Skelton has the votes but there are concerns about whether to have this fight now.

Outside shot? Concerns about whether to have this fight now? The American people didn't elect Congress to be timid. We didn't elect these folks to second guess their timing. We elected them to be vigilant in defense of our liberties and aggressive in fighting for a more just America.
