Happy Birthday, Drinking Liberally!
The progressives I know have a lot of fun. But not usually while they are doing political work. What’s up with that?

Which is why we need institutions like Drinking Liberally. The volunteer-run network of progressive social clubs was started four years ago by fun-loving activists based in New York City (including Justin Krebs who blogs for Working Assets).
Help Drinking Liberally celebrate it’s mission of "promoting
democracy one pint at a time” at a drinking club near you this week. There are over 200 chapters nationwide from San Francisco, Calif., to Natchez, Miss., to Omaha, Neb., to North Adams, Mass., to Austin, Tex.To raise a glass with a group of like-minded folks, just browse the Drinking Liberally web site for the time and location of a gathering near you.
And it’s not just limited to drinking. There are Laughing Liberally and Eating Liberally movements afoot as well.
Social change takes a lot of time and even more hard work. If you’re in it for the long haul, be sure to have some fun along the way.
