New Report Shows Massive Job Losses From China PNTR

The good folks over at the Economic Policy Institute have a new state-by-state report documenting how many net jobs have been lost thanks to the China free trade pact rammed through Congress by the Clinton administration and K Street with the promise that the deal would be a major job creator here in America. Check out the EPI study here. As an aside - I noted yesterday at the international economic summit in Butte, Montana, Clinton Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin was asked whether he had any concerns about China using its lack of basic labor laws and proliferation of sweatshops to manufacture an artificial comparative advantage in manufacturing/factory jobs (artificial because unlike, one country having a natural comparative advantage from, say, better soil, this comparative advantage is created by government oppression). Rubin brushed aside the question by saying "China has a different human rights regime than we do" - as if the the difference between America's constitutional freedoms and China's repressive regime is as inconsequential as a difference in the design of the two countries' flags.

Its not just job losses now, thanks to both parties traitorous behavior we now have to deal with toxic food and feed imports from China that affect not only pets, but livestock and people.

But do you see any senate Dems like Tester or Brown cornering that sick little Nazi fuck Rubin(Yeah he should be considered a Nazi given his views on people) or Baucus on this? No.

They let these fuckers get away with shit that would get a ordinary American put in prison.

Nor do I see Reid or Pelosi demanding an end to toxic chinese imports or warning the American people. Instead they are playing footsie with Bush
    and doing useless foto-ops.

Well maybe a I shouldn't expect much from a party thats owned by the same folks as the GOP.

I just hope one day the American people get sick and tired of both corrupt parties and thrown them into prison or put in front of a firing squad.

  • The problems that we have with China and other outsourcing, as we have seen, is the fact that it makes a mockery of our environmental, food safety, and public safety laws. For instance, lead is not an acceptable product for use where it might poison people, yet just the other day they were warning parents to throw away baby bibs due to potential of lead poisoning from an interior layer if the plastic was torn or cracking. We're pretty much warned on a continual basis against toys and cheap jewelry from the vending machines. It seems they contain lead far too often.

Last I heard, pork and chicken may have been contaminated by the feed. You have to wonder about the safety of beef as well. You can't eat too much fish because of the mercury. If I remember correctly, fresh veggies and fruits from Mexico have been contaminated with e-coli in the past.

We don't have enough health inspectors nor do we have an administration who is interested in doing anything that might slow down profit. I don't know what its going to take to make the change. I tend to think that neither Obama or Hillary are interested in changing things.
