This Week's Tom Chambers Award Winner: Glenn Greenwald

I'm starting to give out a regular Tom Chambers Award. It is an award for those whose work honors the legacy of 1990s-era Phoenix Sun forward Tom Chambers' famous and utterly humiliating dunk over a screaming, flailing, pathetic Mark Jackson of the New York Knicks. The first honoree was Bill Moyers last week. This week, it's Glenn Greenwald. In precise fashion, he takes apart Politico "senior political columnist" Roger Simon's strange obsession with John Edwards' hair and shows how journalistically irresponsible such an obsession really is. He also takes apart Politico editor John Harris's excuse for a response, which is much like the response of journalists to the blogosphere. They claim their critics are calling for them to be more partisan, when in fact their critics are primarily calling for them to be more accurate and more focused on the critical issues facing the country.
