    "Trumped Up Political Stunt," She Says With No Trace of Irony...

    Congress is sending a timetable for withdrawal to the President, and he has made clear his intentions to veto it. It's no accident that this exercise in the balance of powers occurs on May 1st, four years after Bush stood beneath a "Mission Accomplished" banner for a mission that has gone on longer and farther afield than he and his cabinet told the American people it ever would.

    But in the Times article on the bill, I couldn't ignore the fact that the President's spokesperson remains as unabashed as ever:

    Taking advantage of the anniversary of the speech in which Mr. Bush did not say “mission accomplished” is “a trumped-up political stunt that is the height of cynicism,” Ms. Perino said today aboard Air Force One.

    Calling the Congressional move a "trumped-up political stunt" must be a compliment coming from the team that had the shameless bravado to dress Bush in a Top Gun outfit (even Tom Cruise has more modesty); to turn the aircraft carrier so San Diego's coastline wouldn't be seen in the background; and later to blame the troops for putting up the misleading banner.

    Even when their approval rating hangs in the 20s, the White House doesn't give up. And Congress, by sending a bill despite the threat of veto, you prove that you're not giving up either.

    Yeah, it was a trumped up stunt. The war wasn't over, and he was just wasting tax dollars using an aircraft carrier to stage a phony end to his phony "war".
    Now he's pissed because the Democrats have reminded him of it?
    Save our tax dollars, cut back on Bush's travel budget.

    When is he going to give back his medal of honor...the ultimate hush money for keeping silent about phony intelligence. Of course, what happens when you take the hush money and still speak out? Is that a stool pidgeon? A rat? A snitch? Or just a phony?

    What else would you expect an ex-pilot arriving on a aircraft carrier in a two-seat fighter jet to be wearing?

    A $5k Armani tux(see James Bond)?

    Blue jeans, cowboy boots, a 'checkered' shirt, and a 10 gallon hat?(see his fake "cowboy roots")?

    A pair of Zubaz, a 'wifebeater', and a 'do-rag'(courting the 'Kid Rock' demographic)?

    Please explain what you feel would have been 'acceptable dress' for Bush during this event.
    (or, is it just about the event?)

    IMO, it's not what Bush did that irritates you, it's that you know that Democrats couldn't ever have done it so well!(see Dukakis w/ tank...)
