Karl Rove? It Can't Be!

Messages sent from partisan email accounts...The aides of influential political hacks getting placed in high-ranking offices, without confirmation...Suggestions of retribution against anyone who slows down this machine of manipulation...

Ah, the ironically named "Department of Justice." It would be great satire if it weren't also so frighteningly Orwellian.

Think Progress, yesterday, had the damning details of the deepening connection between the Rove operation and the ousted attorneys...and today, new news: a subpoena has arrived for former Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers, as well as for Rove's former top political advisor.

And Alberto is still our Attorney General? If we can't even muster a no-confidence vote, it might be hard to get Congress to impeach Gonzales...but at least some committee chairs are willing to keep pursuing this issue.
