First Aurora, Then America
In case you haven't been following the unfolding drama out of Aurora, Illinois, it's time to take note. Anti-choice protesters have effectively prevented a new Planned Parenthood clinic from opening in the fast-growing city outside of Chicago. A sympathetic city government has caved in to the anti-choice zealotry, and is adding a layer of litigation to keep the clinic's offices closed.
This might seem like an isolated incident, but it isn't. It's a signal of anti-choice forces gearing up to take their fight out of the heartland and across our homeland.
In light of the extreme ban on late-term abortion upheld by the Supreme Court, protesters are feeling emboldened and righteous. Groups like the Pro-Life Action Network are at work in Aurora, whose leaders claim they've "shut down hundreds and hundreds of abortion clinics," and vow to stop abortion "by any means necessary."
Mad yet? You can send a message of support to Aurora clinic staff here.
