Blackwater Gets MORE Evil
Blackwater won't go quietly. That's the message we should all understand from the "dream team" they're putting together of high-power hyper-connected lawyers to defend their rights to be held unaccountable.
As the headline inThe New York Times shouts: "Blackwater Mounts a Defense With Top Washington Talent." And who are these all-stars?
Blackwater for a time retained Kenneth D. Starr, the former Whitewater independent counsel, and Fred F. Fielding, who is now the White House counsel, to help handle suits filed by the families of slain Blackwater employees.
If Blackwater weren't evil enough through their actions -- and their ultra-sinister name -- they now fully enter the legions of super villains by bringing on the Death Starr.
The next paragraph, though, seals the deal:
Another outside public relations specialist, Mark Corallo, former chief spokesman for Attorney General John Ashcroft, quit working for Blackwater late last year because he said he was uncomfortable with what he termed some executives' cowboy mentality.
A man who worked for Ashcroft thought these guys were too insane!
It would be cartoonish and amusing...if we weren't talking about real lives. Our troops are in danger because of Blackwater's "cowboy mentality."
Now, if only we had our own talent in DC...
Wait -- we do. We elected them. Our "DC talent" is called Congress, and it's time we tell them to hold contractors accountable.
Discussion
Is there any truth to the rumor that the Devil won't let dead Blackwater operatives into Hell because they'll try to stage a coup?
I've known a number of REAL cowboys, and they are NOTHING like Blackwater operatives.
The closest thing to a Blackwater operative are Tex-ass wannabe drug-store cowboys, which are definitely NOT real cowboys. I've seen some of those jerks at rodeos where they think it's cool to abuse their animals, ride break neck speed while drunk off their ass, (I've seen more than one fall off his horse), and encourage the rodeo announcers to tell sexist and racist jokes.
To be compared to either those Tex-assians or Blackwater is an insult to REAL cowboys.
