Health Care Special Interests Plot to Disrupt Congressional Meetings
As reported by TPM, there is a well organized effort to physically disrupt local meetings held by Congressional representatives on the subject of health care. TPM has the actual memo, and for anyone reading press stories about opposition to health care reform, it is worth realizing just how phony the opposition often is.
CREDO, in partnership with our friends at FireDogLake, has organized a series of meetings with members of the Progressive Caucus who have yet to pledge that they will not support health care reform without a robust public option.

Yeah. Problem is, I sorta read this memo that TPM claims to have and they sorta kinda replaced what the memo said with what they imagined that it said. You folks will believe whatever you're told as long as it fits your notions, won't you?
Keith,
Why don't you try educating people rather than just attacking and alienating them. You come off as a bitter angry guy. Are you?
I'd worry about alienating people, Tom, if they were not already a lost cause. Tell me honestly: what do you think the chances are that someone who will read something but only believe what their ideological allies say about it is going to care about the truth? TPM and their ilk go on endlessly quoting the same sentence fragments to prove that the protestors are centrally-coordinated thugs out to shout their opponents down... and completely ignore the paragraphs before and after that are inconvenient to the impression they desire to convey. They then post a link to the very material that exposes their dishonesty... and people pay attention to what they say with the truth a single mouse-click away. If I was posting on this subject in a blog in which the others involved were provably amenable to evidence and education, I would happily strike that tone. But this is not that kind of place and so, I respond to a haymaker with a shotgun.
