A conservative who "reaches across the aisle" does so for one of four stupid reasons. He/she is:
1) actually a closet liberal successfully snowing conservatives.
2) pandering in an attempt attempt to manipulate something (public opinion, eg. votes).
3) scared of something (public opinion, eg. unpopularity).
4) actually, delusionally thinks that there is an ounce of sincere conscientious bipartisanship on the other side.
What's scary about John McCain is that it's hard to tell which category he falls into, but THEY'RE ALL STUPID!!

...yeh, and one of these peckerwoods is going to get the job. Ain't no "none of the above" on my ballot.
Wish one of them would promise to dismantle the unitary executive and rescind all those damned signing statements, and return the presidency to what it is supposed to be. Not the leader of the free world. Not the most powerful person on the planet. Just the head of one of three parts of the federal government of these here United States.
Oh well. No sense dwelling on the past.
Actually, I hope Obama is serious about reaching across the aisle. I'm sick and damn tired of each party thinking of the other side as the enemy. Dammit, we're all Americans, even Rush.
(...shudder...)
Well, someone had to say it. I don't like it any more than you do, but there it is.
