How depressing. We still need Sparky during the O'Bama regime.

I love This Modern World very much. Because I love it so much, I find myself disappointed that it did not address Israel's diabolical violence in Gaza over the last few weeks, and that Oprah was selected as this week's focus.

Regularly TMW so artfully delivers incisive commentary on various activities by governments and other power centers, and it so penetratingly exposes the frauds concocted to defend abominations like the Iraq war and the degradation of our civil liberties etc. Why is America's client regime in Israel not a frequent object of focus for the comic?

Perhaps I am unfairly seeking to impose my own predilections on this obviously brilliant comic: I admit that the Israel Palestine conflict is of singular concern to me, more concern than I allot to deserving tragedies in southern Africa and elsewhere.

I also feel a bit rotten trying to meddle in someone else's art which, though displayed publicly, is a personal labor on the part of the artist and is rightly not subject to my preferences in the least.

But I do feel that Israel's criminal actions are a function of US foreign policy; that American people are morally bound to learn about it and withdraw their government's participation to the extent possible; and that This Modern World and its brilliant creator are uniquely situated to breathe life into the generally squalid coverage of the ongoing crimes against the miserable Palestinian people.

I humbly suggest that you address this issue in your wonderful and vital work.

    With fondness and deepest respect,
