David Sirota is a political journalist and nationally syndicated newspaper columnist at Creators Syndicate. He is the New York Times bestselling author of Hostile Takeover. You describe the fixation against public financing of elections clearly.
Closing the barn door after the horses are gone is as American as..."Senator, I don't remember or recall that I twisted the AG's arm while he was close to death on a hospital bed." Innovation always takes either a catastrophe or justice so long delayed that its denial become laughable.
Good to know some states are experimenting. Nothing succeeds like success. If they can make it work, all the hemming and hawing becomes comic.
